Nothing quite compares to these spectacular "S"-shaped Julias produced by clicking on the big indentation of the Mandelbrot figure. In this case I made a new discovery. I found that upping the bailout from the default 4 to something like 400 or higher produced this nice cracked paint look to the outside of a fractal. The outside is binary decomposition and the inside is squares. Almost every other outside coloring mode looks bad at this high bailout value except biomorphs. The biomorphs turn into prickly spines or toothpicks. Here we also see an interesting appearance to the squares on the inside. Not really square-ish but producing an interesting net-like or fractured-glass appearance. This is why I often use the squares coloring mode; it almost always gives an interesting effect when other modes will be blank or plain.
